Hello

My name is Christine and I am a birth worker, currently serving NOVA and Shenandoah Valley as a BIRTH doula. I am also an aspiring midwife.

I have been serving as a doula since 2018. I trained with DONA International in 2023 and finished my Dona International Certification in February of 2025. I am also a certified and licensed massage therapist since 2005.

My gifting as a teacher, therapist, and doula stem from my wiring to serve others. My style as a Doula is to provide moms and families with care, education, resources, and advocacy. I wish for the families I serve to be heard, supported, and experience peace no matter what the pregnancy birth and postpartum journey bring. I believe knowledge is a key component in being informed and empowered. I believe relationship enhances doula support, and I mirror my doula care to the midwife model of care. My doula support focuses on getting to know you, listening to your joys, fears, concerns, and needs. I bring passion for birth to support you physically, emotionally, and educationally.

Its an honor to be invited into the birthing space with families.

I would be delighted to serve your family in this transformative time of life.

“Birth isn’t something we suffer but
something we actively do and exult in!” - K.S.

My Doula Story

I have been a professional Doula since 2018. The adventure began while supporting a mamma in a triumphant VBA4C. However, my appreciation for birth started long before.

Enthralled with birth

Growing up I had the opportunities of being around many animals, especially horses and dogs. As a passionate equestrian, I was always at the school barn or on the farm. I witnessed a foal born and the magic of that birth enthralled me. The wonder continued, as I had the opportunity to assist with the births of my neighbor's show dogs and into adulthood with many rescued animals. I have found birth a beautiful thing in the animal kingdom and in the human realm also.

My birth journey

My own birth journey began 20 years ago. I have labored and birthed three unique times and in three different venues. My personal experience with pregnancy, labor, and birth led me to a personal understanding of birth and the struggles and joys of it's journey.

Along my personal journey, my eyes were opened to many things no one had talked or shared about prior to my experience. The pros and cons of the medicalized birth setting. The  beauty and strength of a laboring woman. The holistic options that are rediscovered and reclaimed in communities. The fight of women for autonomy and choice. These eye opening experiences have given greater understanding to the venues of birth, the challenges of birth, and the work of birth.

The Transformation of Surrender
Birth is the giving way of the maiden to mother through the channel of surrender: the opening to give and receive life.

It is a transformational time where a mother finds her rhythm and strength--her capability as a woman and ultimately as a mother.

Stepping into Birth Work

The privilege to be in the birth world for the past 12 years learning from fellow birth workers and researching birth has also prepared me to support other women. I was urged by a dear friend and colleague to finally serve full time.

For the past several years, I have been supporting mammas through the doula role to prepare families for birth, and in how to advocate for their birth choices.

My Dona International Doula Certification training began in March of 2023 and I concluded my certifying program in February of 2025. I look forward to the future when I can purse midwifery full time.

Passion for Birth Choices

Today, I am passionate about serving woman and supporting mammas in their choices surrounding where and how they birth. I support moms in multiple venues and in individual goals, be that natural birth or a more medicalized birth. I am also passionate about supporting Vaginal Birth After Cesarean(VBAC) and Vaginal Birth After Multiple Cesarean(VBAmC), as well as provide support for Breech Birth and Multiple Birth.

I also have a heart for mammas who may be faced with birthing alone or who are facing inadequate support, no matter the reasons.

My passion for birth, my professional and lay education, my service oriented skill sets, and my own personal experiences with birth make me the doula I am today. I know that mammas can birth and birth well, they can manage their birth venues and birth itself, and they can achieve their overcoming goals and triumphant outcomes.
