Who is the practioner?

Hello! Welcome to Ministering Touch Massage and Doula Services. My name is Christine Scott and I am the owner, therapist, and doula at MTM. I am woman, mother, massage therapist, doula, teacher, artist, and researcher among many other passions. My giftings include: service and care for others, hospitality, a passion for healing bodywork,  and evidence based and compassionate care for mammas during pregnancy and birth. I also have a heart for the well being of the veteran and those still serving in the military and law enforcement.

My Massage Practitioner Journey

I’ve been a dedicated practitioner of holistic medicine since 2005. For 19 years my massage bodywork practice has strived to assist thousands of individuals in their health journey. I am passionate about serving my clients and facilitating healing for each individual. I endeavor to tailor each session to your health goals and provide you with a superior massage session.

I graduated from a top five massage school in 2005. I have over 1,200 hours of study in massage, and have worked in multiple massage settings -- client homes, business offices, event venues, chiropractor offices, physical therapy offices, and luxury spas.

Today I am a therapist skilled in multiple modalities. I look forward to serving you and facilitating wellness, peace, and health in your next bodywork session.

My Doula Journey

If you wish to know more about MTMs Doula Services: click here. If you wish to know more about the Doula: read here.  I have been a professional Doula since 2018. The adventure began while supporting a mamma in a triumphant VBA4C. However, my appreciation for birth started long before when I witnessed a foal born and the magic of birth enthralled me. The wonder continued through my youth, assisting with the births of my neighbor's show dogs and into adulthood with many rescued animals and their birth support. I have found birth a beautiful thing in the animal kingdom and in the human realm of motherhood too. The preparation for birth support has come from many avenues.

My own birth journey began 20 years ago. My personal experience with pregnancy, labor and birth led me to a personal understanding of birth. My eyes were opened to many things no one had talked about. The pros and cons of the medicalized birth setting. The  beauty and strength of a laboring woman. The holistic options that are reclaimed in communities. The fight of women for autonomy and choice. These eye opening experiences have given greater understanding to the venues of birth, the challenges of birth and the work of birth.

Birth is the giving way of the maiden to mother through the channel of surrender: opening to give and receive life. It is a transformational time where a mother finds her rhythm and strength--her capability to walk through birth.

The understanding and preparation of birth has continued as I have been in the birth world for the past 12 years learning from fellow birth workers and researching birth. I was urged by a dear friend and colleague to finally serve full time. For the past several years, I have been supporting mammas through the doula role to prepare families for birth, and how to advocate for the birth choices they choose. I conclude my certifying program in 2024. I am also training toward EMS certifications and a Paramedic degree. I look forward to the future when I can purse midwifery full time.

My Purpose

My talents are given to me to empower others to heal. It is an honor to have the unique skill of touch and serve others with that gift. Trust my hands, trust your ability to heal,  and allow yourself to feel better than you imagined possible.
